Traditional wines

Since ancient times, on the hills between Bologna and Modena the vineyards have been present. Many of the local wines are nowadays recognized with the Italian quality assurance label “DOC” (Denominazione di Origine Controllata), meaning Protected Designation of Origin, modeled after the French AOC.
The Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Pignoletto of Bologna hills are some examples of the wines DOC produced in the region.
Corte D’Aibo represent one of the many farms in which wine is produced with biological methods and in which it is possible to taste and to buy many different local wines.
A big artificial reservoir, some small rivers and a marvelous water spring are present in the area around this farm, the name of the farm is in fact connected to the presence of water; "aibus" means watering-trough in the local Latino-form dialect.
